Runthrough 4/24 Act II Notes

Movement – Thank you for having fun up there! Have this much fun with ALL YOUR NUMBERS.

Scapin – five hundred crowns. That is how much Leander purchases Zerb's freedom for.

Zerb. – Make that laugh BIGGER! Both of them in this scene. Scapin has to calm you down – You gotta be crazy for it to work.

Scapin – I love the way you imitate Hyacinth saying her name.

Scapin/Geronte – Let’s make sure we are further downstage from the stair unit so we do not hurt ourselves on it when Geronte is in the bag.

Scapin –SLIDE IT INTO THE STAIRS INSTEAD OF THROWING IT YOU ARE GOING TO BREAK YO PROP!!!!

Scapin – Please look over your Castille lines and work them. Look up the actual Spanish pronunciation and meaning of EVERY SINGLE WORD and then practice it with the lithp.

Syl – Same as Scapin – Look up the pronunciation and meaning of every single word you are saying in German and then practice saying it. Also, please hit Clay. Gently, but do hit him. The bamboo swords distribute force in a way that does not really hurt the person that you are hitting with them. So. Hit him.

EVERYONE – BE IN PLACE FOR YOUR CUES. THIS SHOW ONLY RUNS IF WE ARE ON TIME WHERE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WHEN WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE.

Zerb – You gotta out-loud Geronte on the “by a Turk on a yacht” – we can’t hear you over Geronte’s laugh!

CUES. BE THER ON TIME. AHHHHH. >=(((

Ethan – Can you possible play a little more of Careless Whisper? I’d love a bit more of the song!

Sylvestre – Really react to the news of the boat sinking – no fake react.

Nerine – great exasperation on “you changed your name again”

Argante – can you do the turtle on its back thing when you’re knocked over?

Nerine – Emphasize the second “this way”

Syl – Long lost daughter, not son.

Octave – Enter faster on your theme cue

Hyacinth – play up the outrage when Octave is insulting you without meaning to.

Octave – jump on those interrupts!

Zerb – Enter sooner!

Sylvestre – Can you be upstage of Argante and Nerine after Octave yells at you?

Leander – YAAAS!!! YOU DID IT! YOU CAME IN WITH ENERGY AND INTENSITY!!!! KEEP DOING IT!

Scapin/Porters – You should be visible to the audience when Sylvestre is describing the accident – Scapin is leading him with gestures. Be on the tile between the door and the stage.

Scapin – YESSS!! A COMEDY DOES REQUIRE THIS SORT OF THING!!!

Chase Scene – Needs work. The bones are there, but it’s very rough right now. We’ll work on it. Please read over the blocking for it so you know your entrances and exits – there were lots of mis-timed entrances and exits in here. That being said, a lot of the comic bits are here – just needs polishing. Lots of polishing.

Everyone – please be working on your choreography for the ending dance!
