Chase Scene

All exit SL, chasing Scapin. Except Ginger, who waves goodbye at them and then perches happily on the wall.

Scapin enters SL, chased by gendarmes and dads. 

Couples cross (enter SL). Music shift to romance. Octave pulls down a Hyacinth flower from lamppost, presents to Hyacinth. Couples start to dance. Scapin, Sylvestre, and gendarmes cross through, music shifts back to chase music as they do so. Couples get mixed up. Octave dips Zerbinette and goes to kiss her. She slaps him, he drops her, Hyacinth and Zerbinette fight/wrestle. Leander and Octave watch. Scapin joins them and watches from in between them. They notice, Scapin runs off. Leander helps Zerbinette up and they chase Scapin off. Hyacinth holds up her hand to be helped, but Octave has already left SR.

Scapin pops back up in the upper window of Geronte's house. The gendarmes and a messenger (Zoe) enter SR. The messenger sees Scapin and points excitedly. The gendarmes tell the messenger to get a ladder. They try to get to the window while the messenger gets a ladder. Messenger returns, and Scapin leaves the window. The messenger hits gendarmes with the ladder several times while setting it up. Messenger turns around triumphantly when the ladder is fully in place, notices the gendarmes are lying on the ground in pain. Grabs the ladder and runs off SL, chased by gendarmes.

Octave returns from SR, helps Hyacinth up, picks her up and carries her off SL.

Sylvestre enters SL with Scapin on his back. They are chased by the dads. Geronte decides to ride piggyback on Argante. He jumps up, Argante collapses. Ginger laughs very hard at this.

Hyacinth and Octave enter SL, music shifts to romance, they being to make out. Nerine enters, is scandalized, and pulls Hyacinth offstage. Music shifts back to chase music. Octave sulks by his lamppost.

Grandma Sophie enters SL. Scapin peaks out of the hedge and sees her. Geronte enters SR, Scapin sees Geronte and goes to help the grandma, hoping he will not be attacked. Geronte sees Scapin and runs towards him. Scapin uses grandma as a shield, she gets knocked down by Geronte. Scapin flees. Geronte tries to apologize, but grandma chases him off SR while beating him with her purse.

Octave gives one last  huge sigh and sulks off SR.

Selina enters dressed in Scapin's PTA mom costume. Sylvestre comes on and sees her, is excited to have found Scapin.

Mob enters SR, carrying torches, pitchforks, etc. The mob absorbs Sylvestre as they cross. Scapin sneaks behind the mob, is noticed by Argante, who wants to go flirt with that hot chick. Selina-Scapin enters Geronte's house. Argante checks his breath, smooths his clothes, and gets ready to approach. He knocks on the door. Rivkah-Scapin, in the PTA mom wig, pops up in the lower window. Argante begins to flirt and make suggestive motions and faces. Scapin flirts back. Flirting intensifies, until Scapin pulls off the wig, revealing himself, and throws the wig at Argante. Argante does the fainting goat. Scapin exits the house and laughs at him. The mob enters SL, Scapin hides in the bush. The mob absorbs Argante as it crosses. Sylvestre is at the back of the mob with a rake. Scapin exits the hedge, pulls him out of the mob, takes his rake and throws it on the ground behind him. Gendarmes enter SR covered in cartoon bandages. Marina is on crutches. Scapin goes to run away, but steps on the rake, which comes up and hits him in the face, knocking him over. Maddie drags him off SL with Marina crutching along after them.

Sylvestre looks around the empty stage and gestures to George to change the music. Music shifts to romance. Sylvestre picks up the wig, puts it on the rake, and begins to dance with the rake. Nerine enters, sees him dancing with the rake, and is scandalized at the rake's behavior. She takes the rake and exits SL while scolding it. The music shifts back to chase music.

A bag hops onstage from SL. Sylvestre thinks it's Scapin, so he crosses over to it and begins helping it cross the stage to SR. Geronte enters and sees Sylvestre and the bag. He stalks over, forces the person in the bag to kneel, and whips the bag open to reveal Grandma Sophie. Sylvestre backs away and exits SL. Geronte runs off in terror SR. Grandma Sophie looks out at the audience slowly and lies on her face onstage. The music stops. Grandma Sophie begins to slug off SR. Long awkward silence, until George begins to play the Jaws theme. This continues until the slug is about to fall off the platform, at which point Ginger will help her offstage the rest of the way and then resume her wall perch. Music returns to chase scene.

Scapin drags Maddie on from SL, Maddie realizes this is backwards and gets loose. Marina enters from SR and spots Scapin. Marina and Maddie run towards Scapin at the same time, Scapin rolls forward to escape them, M & M collide and do the backwards fall. Scapin hides in the audience by sitting on someone while the gendarmes are down.

Messengers and dads enter. Zoe goes to help Maddie up, but notices a shadow in the lower window of Geronte's house and drops her to point at the window. Marina goes to look in the window, messengers come to help by boosting her up in a basket lift, but accidentally drop her head-first through the window. Maddie chases the messengers offstage. The shadow is revealed to be Leander and Zerbinette, who were making out. Argante faints. Leander and Zerbinette sheepishly exit the house. Geronte is scandalized to find his son up to such behavior, and drags Leander off SL. Zerbinette follows, ready to fight Geronte. Marina exits the house, stunned, and sets off after the messengers.

Nerine enters from SL, looking for Scapin. He sees her and leaps up onto the stage from the audience. The music turns sexy. Nerine begins to suggestively undress Scapin. They go into Geronte's house. Music returns to chase.

Everyone (except Scapin, Sylvestre, and Nerine) makes their way back onstage and look around, out of breath and baffled. George plays a big fanfare. Scapin exits the house, with clothes that now fit perfectly. He struts around like a model. Nerine exits the house with a needle and thread, clearly having just finished tailoring Scapin's clothes. Nerine shows everyone the massively large engagement ring she has now. 

Music changes to the wedding march. Sylvestre exits Argante's house dressed as a priest. He is carrying an impressive-looking tome. The three couples stand together (O+H SR, S +N in the middle, L+Z SL). Sylvestre opens up the tome to reveal it is a pop-up book. He solemnly performs the marriage ceremony.  When he pronounces everyone married, they all kiss and the rest of the cast throws confetti on the happy couples. Music changes to dance music, and the final dance/curtain call begins.
